Project Details

The Acadia Lifelines Summer Project is a unique opportunity for college students.

Dates of project: May 31 - June 28

Cost: $2580 (includes food)

We want to transform your life and your ministry on campus.  Our goal is not to make you perfect, but to make you real.  We believe people are watching you all the time to see how Christ is at work in your life and they are thinking, "Can I be like that?  Would I want to be like that?"  They need to know that you are in process.  If you act like you are finished, and they don't like the finished product, then why would they want to follow your example?  It means actually being humble rather than just talking about humility.  It means loving your neighbor and speaking the truth in love rather than simply leading a Bible study on it.  We want to help you apply the Bible to your life.  Is it worth four weeks of your life to do that?  We think so, and we bet that it will even be fun.

You will experience, see modeled, and learn how to establish a grace and truth environment on your campus.  You will be given tools to improve every relationship in your life: with God, believers and non-believers.  You will practice and witness evangelism in a relational context through process learning.  You will experience character growth in areas you were aware and unaware of and you will develop leadership skills and principles.

Location & Housing:

Students and staff will be staying on Mount Desert Island in gorgeous coastal Maine.  Lodging is at Bay Meadow Cottages, a quaint group of cabins with a view of the water, just five miles from downtown Bar Harbor.  Each cabin includes its own small kitchen and bathroom.  Bay Meadow’s is located on the shuttle route, a quick ride to the Acadia National Park entrance and downtown Bar Harbor, Maine.  It is also near Pirate's Cove Adventure golf, and food and ice cream establishments.
